Renée Watson is coming back to the Decatur Library with another Ryan Hart Story!

In the words of beloved actress and singer, Hillary Duff: "hey now hey now, this is what dreams are made of," and by "this" we mean a brand new Ryan Hart story from our amazing author friend, Renée Watson! This super cute series has seriously stolen a piece of our hearts and reminded us that children's books absolutely have the power to make the world a more sunshine-y place, which is why we're so thrilled to welcome Renée back to Decatur for a big party at the Decatur Library (with our friends at the GA Center for the Book!) to celebrate the release of Ways to Build Dreams on October 30th at 7:00 PM! In addition to listening to Renée talk about her new book , to go along with this book's theme of drawing on the ambitions of those who came before us, we invite kiddos to bring a picture (drawn or printed) of someone who inspires them to hang up on our wall! Trust us when we say you do not want to miss out on what's sure to be a phenomenal evening, so see below for more deets:

About the Book:

Middle school is just around the corner for Ryan Hart, which means it's time to start thinking about the future--and not just how to prank her brother, Ray!

During Black History Month, Ryan learns more about her ancestors and local Black pioneers, and their hopes for the future, for her generation. She wonders who she wants to be and what kind of person her family hopes she becomes. Drawing on the ambitions of those who came before her and her own goals, Ryan is determined to turn her dreams into reality.

Grow and shine and share with Ryan Hart in this series that brings ever more humor, more love, and more fun.
