Our events are free and open to the pub­lic. Free reg­is­tra­tion is required or request­ed, depend­ing on the event. Our tick­et­ing sys­tem, Afton Tick­ets is still evolv­ing. Most part­ner events will still send you to Eventbrite.

Paths to Pub­li­ca­tion: SCB­WI Kidlit Pan­el 2026

Join The Soci­ety of Children’s Book Writ­ers and Illus­tra­tors (SCB­WI) at the Decatur Library on August 29, 2026 (2:00 p.m. — 4:30 p.m.)! If you’ve got burn­ing ques­tions about how to get pub­lished, this is the event for you! Sev­en pan­elists will pull back the cur­tain on their pub­lish­ing jour­ney and pro­vide advice for writ­ers and illus­tra­tors. Learn more here.

In the Fourth Floor Gallery

Vis­it the Fourth Floor Gallery in the Decatur library dur­ing gallery hours for a range of shows through­out the year. Next to be on dis­play is The Book As Art v.14: Ghost­ed, which will be open Sep­tem­ber 11^th — Octo­ber 24^th, 2026. Gallery Hours will be Thurs­day — Sat­ur­day, 1 — 5 pm.
