Paul Wallace launches Love and Quasars
First Baptist Church of Decatur
October 21, 2019, 7:00
Paul Wallace teaches physics and astronomy at Agnes Scott College. He holds a PhD in experimental nuclear physics from Duke University and an MDiv from Candler School of Theology. He also teaches theology at Candler and at Columbia Theological Seminary. He is ordained in the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. His first book, Stars Beneath Us: Finding God in the Evolving Cosmos, was released in March 2016. In Love and Quasars: An Astrophysicist Reconciles Faith and Science, Wallace shows how faith and science are pitted against one another, and he explains how the standard ways of reconciling them don’t work. He then proposes a reasonable, thoughtful approach that will appeal to Christians and students of science alike. Readable and wise, Love and Quasars is an indispensable resource for people who wonder if faith and science can coexist. This event will be at the First Baptist Church, Decatur, in the sanctuary, and it will be followed by a reception and book signing in Carreker Hall. Doors open at 6:30. Event is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase.
